Today’s video is taking a look at the new ProForm SMART Pro 5000. We give it 5 stars and it’s near the top of our list of Best Treadmills for 2019.

The Pro 5000 has a strong motor. The 3.75 CHP motor is dependable for lots of heavy use. If you run a lot of miles during the week, or if multiple users run a lot of miles during the week, this is a great home treadmill for you. It also has a 12 mph max and a large incline range of -3 to 15%. Quick select controls on the console make it easy to jump from one speed/incline to another during HIIT and Tabata training. The deck can fold to save space, also making it easier to move the treadmill. The ProForm SMART Pro 5000 has a 300 lb max user weight, a 22” x 60” running surface, and ProShox™ cushioning (a small amount of cushioning).

The SMART Pro 5000 has a large, 10” HD touchscreen display that makes your treadmill workout a lot more entertaining and engaging. Without iFit, the treadmill can also perform 50 different onboard workouts. Heart rate monitoring on the Pro 5000 uses EKG handgrip HR monitors. While the treadmill doesn’t come with a Bluetooth chest strap monitor, you can buy one separately and pair it to your treadmill. The console also has built-in fans and speakers. The speakers can pair with your mobile device to project audio from the console speakers. Lastly, the console also has two large water bottle holders.

The ProForm SMART Pro 5000 pairs with the iFit subscription service. When you buy the treadmill from ProForm, a 12-month membership is included with your purchase. After your subscription expires, it’s fairly inexpensive to maintain. For one user profile, the cost is $15 per month. For up to five user profiles, the cost is $33 per month. iFit gives you access to a huge library of on-demand workout videos for on and off the treadmill, a calendar tool, and the Google Maps tool. iFit also has a suite of apps that offer more fitness tools like nutrition and activity tracking.

Our bottom line review of the ProForm SMART Pro 5000 is this: it’s awesome. We give it 5 stars for an excellent display, lots of versatility to support a wide range of uses, a strong 3.75 CHP motor, and a reasonable price tag.
